I craft character rigs for feature animation, specializing in advanced skinning and production-ready deformations that bring animated characters to life. Built with Maya, mGear, and custom Python solutions.
My passion for computer graphics began as a child after watching Toy Story, the film that sparked my curiosity about how digital characters could come to life on screen. This experience ignited my interest in animation and technology, leading me to explore 3D software and experiment with personal projects from a young age. The combination of creativity and technical problem-solving became the guiding thread of my career as a Character Rigger.
Today, I specialize in feature animation with a strong focus on advanced skinning and production-ready character deformations. I work primarily with Autodesk Maya, developing rigs using professional frameworks such as mGear and Kangaroo, alongside custom solutions and Python scripting to optimize workflows and automate tasks. My approach creates rigs that are robust, customizable, and animator-friendly, with careful attention to deformation quality.
My professional experience is primarily in feature animation, where I've developed deep expertise in character rigging for animated productions. I have also collaborated on VFX projects, mainly as a previs artist, gaining solid understanding of cross-department pipelines and communication. Additionally, I have working knowledge of Unreal Engine, Blender, and Houdini, acquired through collaboration with CFX and other departments. I'm a fast learner and always open to adopting new tools and frameworks, whether proprietary or open-source, to adapt effectively to diverse production environments.
Based in Italy, I'm available for remote freelance collaborations and open to on-site opportunities. I'm motivated by projects that require solid rigs, believable deformations, and a strong technical approach, bringing precision and expertise to character performance and storytelling.
